BACKGROUND OF HASHIMOTO SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship Name      : Hashimoto Scholarship
Founder                          : Dr. Masud Rahman, former KUET student, 90’batch
Who is Hashimoto      : Fukiko Hashimoto is Japanese national and a great donor for Bangladeshi poor students.

Dr. Masud Rahman has completed his B. Sc. Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). After that he went to Kyushu, Japan for his post graduate studies and completed his masters and Ph. D. from Kyushu Institute of Technology (KIT), Kyushu, Japan.

OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
To support the poorest student of KUET who may not be able to continue his/her study without this scholarship

BD TK.1000 per month

NUMBER OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

One for the year of 2007

TENURE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
One year (January to December). However, it can be extended each and every year based the availability of the fund, and if the student can meet scholarship requirements. Dr. Nasim Uddin is a great physician and medical practitioner in Khulna, Bangladesh. He has donated 150,000 BD Tk. in Social Investment Bank, Khulna Branch, Bangladesh on Dec. 05, 2001. From the interest of this fund, each year 4/5 poor, talent, and pious students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) are getting scholarship of 4000 BD Tk. per year. This year (academic year 2006-2007) the following students have got the scholarship.
